They can be pretty fun. Hopefully you get a decent one. Some of Uhaul’s stuff can be awfully janky.

I once got a 26' diesel International for the price of a 15' truck. It was pretty freaking fun!

Well, I got to uhaul at 8:45. They open at 9. They didn’t open till 9:15. I didn’t leave till 10:15 after redoing the contract multiple times because they had it set up wrong. They also had me set up for 27 furniture pads and 14 dollies.

There’s a reason I stayed in my last place for 19 years (rent control certainly played a part in that well...)

Before a cross-country move a few years back I found out that you can hire moving labor. I did the driving but let someone else do the lifting up and down stairs. Much easier this way and worth every single penny.

I recommend Budget or Penske for future moving needs. Uhaul blows as much as moving :)

Consider yourself lucky then. Uhaul keeps their trucks for an insanely long time, and their maintenance is garbage. Some of their trucks are decrepit.
